Our Story
A Little Bit About Jake...
I fell in love with photography similarly to how I fell in love with Tasha, slowly at first, and then all at once. Okay, okay, that might sound cheesy, but it's true! I promise.
My first passion was film, making videos for my church group. That quickly evolved into capturing priceless moments in people's lives through the lens.
Feeling called a different direction than I was headed in life, I decided to take my very part-time photo/video company to a full-time operation, something I could sink my teeth into, and grow from the ground up each and every day...
A Little Bit About Tasha...
I have always enjoyed taking photos, ever since I was a kid taking family portraits of my barbies on a disposable camera. I love the way that pictures capture memories. I could look at old photos all day. Despite my love for photos, photography was never something I seriously pursued until I met Jake, and he started bringing me along to assist on shoots.
We were engaged when Jake decided to take the leap and make Glass Woods his full-time job. While it involved a risk, it has been so rewarding to watch him do what he loves, and to join in on the journey. I jumped in full-time in January 2018, and we haven't looked back!
...And here we are, a few years down the pipe, with so much to be thankful for and so much to look forward to.
We absolutely love getting to meet new couples, learning who they are as individuals, as a couple, and their story. We tell these stories through our photography. From short family portrait shoots, to all-day weddings, we love capturing the grand narrative of where our clients are in life. Whether starting a brand new chapter, welcoming a new member to the family, or celebrating their love and life, we aim to artfully capture the smallest details, the most majestic moments, and the entire narrative of your story.
“Where to start? From our first meeting with Jake my wife and I knew we found the right company to capture one of the most important days of our lives. Jake and his wife Tasha were PHENOMENAL! They did a great job at making me feel comfortable during my pre-wedding preparation photos which was good because I get kind of awkward when being photographed. They were more than patient with our families, bridesmaids, and groomsmen during shoots at the ceremony and reception-they can be hard to corral sometimes!! As with any wedding, things ran behind which jeopardized the timing of their outdoor shots at the wedding venue. Jake and Tasha didn't panic about it and were so calm and patient (that word will pop up a lot) as they took pictures of the wedding party and some of the best pictures of my bride and I with our beautiful reception venue as the back drop. Our family noticed how amazing Jake and Tasha were as well. Several family members, including my mom, said how kind they were and how interactive they were as well. My wife and I have zero complaints about our experience with Glass Woods. Jake kept in constant contact along the way, did a great job at getting to know my wife and I, and got our photos back to us within the timeline that was quoted. Looking back at the photos was an event in itself because we got to see so many moments that we missed during the whirlwind of the wedding day. I can't recommend them enough and will definitely use them for any type of photo shoot that we need!”
