Alex + Jackie's Elegant Tom Ham's Lighthouse San Diego Wedding
Alex and Jackie met in Middle School. He was best friends with her cousin and they would see each other at family parties. They started dating when they were 18 and have been together ever since. They have known each other over half of their lives and have grown up together both individually and as a couple. On a beautiful September day in San Diego, they made a commitment to continue growing together for the rest of their lives.
We met up with Alex and Jackie at the Manchester Grand Hyatt in San Diego where they were getting ready in suites just down the hall from each other.
They spent the morning relaxing and soaking in time with their dearest friends.
Though they very much enjoyed this time with their friends and family. They were both visibly eager to get to the alter.
Jackie shared some special moments with her mom and grandma as she got ready. Her grandma presented her with a beautiful wedding blanket that she had crocheted by hand.
The Lobby at the Manchester Grand Hyatt was truly spectacular and we could not resist the opportunity to shoot the groomsmen there. The guys brought so much fun energy to the space.
We took the ladies outside to enjoy the gorgeous day. San Diego brought it’s best weather for this wedding, with bright blue skies and fluffy white clouds.
Alex had a very calm and collected presence. He rocked his individual portrait shoot with poise.
Jackie’s serene joyfulness and contagious smile were so fun to capture in her individual portraits.
From there, we headed down a secluded road through the San Diego Harbor to Tom Ham’s Lighthouse where we would stay for the rest of the day.
This venue is a restaurant and bar, as well as a fully-functioning lighthouse.
Alex’s first emotional glimpse of Jackie was while she headed down the aisle. He could hardly take his eyes off of her for the rest of the day.
The ceremony took place outside on a grassy knoll with a breathtaking view of the San Diego skyline.
The two took turns laughing and crying as they read their personalized vows to one another.
As newlyweds, Alex & Jackie hardly left each other’s side for the rest of the evening...
Spirits were high all around as we started bridal party and family portraits following the ceremony. Everyone was overjoyed to see these two married at last!
Alex and Jackie then shared a romantic portrait session, while everyone else enjoyed cocktail hour with a view.
We planned their portrait session to coincide with the sunset, but we could not have possibly imagined what a magnificent sunset it would turn out to be.
They then made their way inside for their big entrance.
Their wedding party brought the energy and ushered them into the party!
The two shared an utterly romantic first dance before settling into their reception to be celebrated by all their friends.
Their guests came ready to party and the night was so much fun because of it!
Friends and family really brought it on the dance floor and we LOVED it.
They were sent off into their married life in a flurry of sparkler and excitement.
Congratulations Alex and Jackie! We wish you a long and happy marriage.
